This is a super easy tutorial on how to make your own cream blush. It only takes a few minutes to make and you probably already have all the things needed at home.
Time: Less than 10 minutes to make (Another 10 minutes to cool and solidify)
Difficulty: 1/5
What You’ll Need:
-Pigment (you can use blush or eyeshadow)
-Chapstick (I used one with no flavor or fragrance.)
-Foundation or tinted moisturizer (optional)
-Empty container (for holding the blush)
-Container (for mixing ingredients)
-Something to stir with
-Hairdryer
What To Do:
Take your pigment and crush it up into powder if it’s in solid form. You can get creative with this part. You can mix different shades together or add fine glitter if you want it to be shimmery.
Take the Chapstick out of the tube. (Keep twisting the thing on the bottom until the chapstick pops out.) You need this because the wax solidifies the blush and the oils in it makes it creamy.
Put these ingredients in the container and mash up the chapstick. Mix it with the powder and use the hairdryer on high heat to melt the Chapstick. Stir until the consistency is even and the color is dispersed evenly.
I thought mine turned out too pigmented because I added too much blush. To tone it down a little, I added some light tinted moisturizer.
I worked too slowly and my mixture started hardening already so I had to remelt it with the hairdryer again.
While it is still liquidy, pour the mixture into the container. Allow it to cool for a minute and then pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
There you have it! It was really easy to make and wasn’t expensive at all. You can apply it with your fingers, but I prefer to use a stipple brush. :)
